Police Officer Appreciation Project

Police Officer Appreciation Project

Although National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day isn’t until January, the staff and students of Lotus School were excited to start the new school year by showing support for the Fox Lake Police Department. On September 16th, students showed their appreciation for the FLPD by displaying posters and banners they had created in their classrooms. The posters highlighted the importance and dedication that police officers provide to the community on a daily basis. The appreciation project was celebrated with FLPD when several officers came to visit with the students. The officers gave the students tours of their vehicles complete with wailing sirens and flashing lights for added effect. It was a fun and lighthearted event enjoyed by both parties that truly provided a unified front for students and the officers to experience. The posters and banners will be given to businesses in Fox Lake as a community reminder to support and appreciate all that law enforcement officers do. It is important to recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career these officers have chosen, in public service to us all.
