D114 Friday Facts--April 6, 2018

Dear Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break, although it certainly doesn't feel like spring right now! :) Please read below for important updates...

District Updates

Bus Reminders

Thanks for all you do to help make the ride to and from school safe! Just a few reminders for everyone as the weather gets (hopefully) nicer:

  • All preschool and kindergarten students MUST be met by an adult at the bus at drop off. We need to be able to see the adult to ensure student safety, so thanks in advance for coming to the bus door.
  • Students cannot cross a street without an adult.
  • Your help in making sure students are making safe choices at the bus stop is greatly apprecaited.

2018-19 Student Registration

Registration for the 2018-19 school year opens on Tuesday, May 1! You will receive an email link to complete the online process. It has been streamlined to make it all MUCH more user friendly. Some new processes for 2018-19 will be:

  • In addition to completing online registration, all families MUST attend Walk In Enrollment on either August 1 or 2, 2018 (times TBA) to prove residency in D114. Also at this time, you will also be able to have any questions answered, complete any needed health forms, sign up for the PTA, purchase D114 spirit wear, and MORE!
  • Student safety is our #1 priority. One key way we can improve our practices is by upgrading our transportation routing and bus service. We are already building the maps for our new transportation routing software, examining our bus fleet and driver capacity to ensure we minimize bus ride time, and that we create the safest routes and stops possible. To do so, bus stops will be assigned to students. This will ensure safety and efficient ride times.
