Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope summer is treating you well! Thanks to the 82% of families who have already completed online registration. Remember, this must be completed by August 1...otherwise, you must come to Lotus or Stanton to register.
We’re gearing up for the 2018-19 school year, starting with our Registration/Residency event on Wednesday, August 1 (3:00PM-7:00PM) and Thursday, August 2 (7:00AM-3:00PM). ALL FAMILIES MUST PROVE RESIDENCY TO ATTEND A D114 SCHOOL THIS YEAR. Even if you have registered and paid fees, you still must show proof of being a D114 resident.
You can save time at the Registration/Residency event by:
- Completing online registration in Skyward
- Having proof of residency documents ready for review; see requirements on the D114 website.
- Completing the Free/Reduced Lunch application through Skyward enrollment (if applicable)
- Completing the Transportation Form attached to this email and posted on the D114 website
Speaking of transportation, we are excited to be implementing the Traversa routing system, which ensures the safest and most timely routes for our students. Along with this, you’ll have access to an app that will allow you to see where your child’s bus is in real time. You’ll get information on this when you receive your bus information at Meet and Greet. Some key points to remember about D114 busing:
- Our entire large bus fleet has been updated! It’s key to keep our buses in great shape, as we are leasing them...the most cost efficient way to bus!
- If your child is in Pre-K or Kindergarten, a parent / adult 18 years or older is required to release your child from the bus.If there is no adult present at the stop, your child will be brought back to Lotus for pick up.
- To create the safest and most efficient routes, your bus route will be assigned by address.
- To ensure student safety, Stanton students will not be permitted to ride a morning Lotus route. There is no supervision for the students upon arrival. If this creates an issue for your family, please contact Jeff Sefcik, Stanton Principal, at 847-973-4200.

Meet and Greet will take place Tuesday, August 14 from 12:00-2:00 at Lotus and 1:00-3:00 at Stanton. We know it was hard for families to get to both schools when we had Meet and Greet at the same time, so we’re hoping the staggered times help!
